8 Cones Conical Cooker

This is a Conical Cooker of Fresnell Cooker. It is based on 8 cones + the base. Normally a Conical Cooker would have 1-3 cones, but I have made small models of Conical Cooker with up to 21 cones. This provide a very hot focus but is difficult to make. The advantage is that they are more and more effective the bigger the parabol gets. In this way there are no specific limits depending on size. This is the opposit of triangular vings that gets wider and wider the further they are from the center and thus seems to loose of their effect. Cones can share the same with or the same horisontal area. In other albums on this site you will find photos that show how conical cooker can be cut out and put together from one singel sheet of paper, metal or or other types of materials. Try it out, it is a fun experience!
