Double-Cylindrical Parabolics
This video shows how to use two sylindrical parabolics to create a point focus. The effectivness is immediate.
Math who is the author of this video is specialized on solar equations. He comes from Sweeden and the netsite by which he is accosiated describe the consept in the following way: "Double-Cylindical Parabolics (... is) a truly powerful idea with the potential to change a lot of things in the way we design our technology. It offers a simple and efficient way of concentrating energy from a distant source - most notably the sun - down to a very small volume in space."

I think it is amazing. What is even more amazing is that nobody has picked up on it.
I am trying to promote it but people get angry when I suggest making one. (I am too busy right now at my job). I have said that peer review means that people have to make the things and report on their findings. (Like magnar does) and I get lectured that peer review is confined to scientific journals.
